Dear Friends,

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) still has a number of tax refund checks that could not be delivered, in many cases due to incorrect addresses. Below is a list of taxpayers in the 7th Congressional District of New York who may be owed refunds.

If your name is on the list below, or if you think you may be missing a refund, please visit the IRS "Where’s My Refund?" page at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html or access a telephone version by calling 1-800-829-1954. The "Where’s My Refund?" tool enables taxpayers to check the status of their refunds. A taxpayer must submit his or her Social Security number, filing status and amount of refund shown on their 2006 return. The tool will provide the status of their refund and in some cases provide instructions on how to resolve delivery problems.

To make sure that the IRS has your up-to-date address, you can call the IRS toll-free assistance line at 1-800-829-1040, or file Form 8822, Change of Address. You can download this form at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8822.pdf or request it by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676).

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you need assistance with this matter or any other IRS-related issue.

Sincerely,

Congressman Joseph Crowley
