Smith Visits Emergency Preparation Sites for Hurricane Ike

Congressman Lamar Smith was briefed today by officials from Fort Sam Houston Garrison, FEMA, and U.S. Army North, which helps coordinate emergency preparedness and response efforts at the federal, state and local levels.

Congressman Smith then met with District Fire Chief Nim Kidd, Emergency Management Coordinator for San Antonio’s Office of Emergency Management. After the meeting, Congressman Smith and Chief Kidd visited a first responder shelter at Port San Antonio.
