The transition to digital television will provide better programming, as well as better picture and sound quality. It will also free up airwaves for wireless broadband and public safety. September 15, 2008:

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and resume consideration of S. 3001, the Defense Authorization bill. There will be no roll call votes during Monday's.

As a reminder, on Friday, Senator Reid filed cloture on the Defense Authorization bill. Senators have until 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, to file germane first degree amendments. Further, the cloture vote will occur during Tuesday's session.
