Klobuchar Presses FCC and NTIA to Address Looming Technical Concerns with DTV Transition

Washington, D.C. – In a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar pressed the two agencies for answers in light of early reports that suggest that a certain portion of consumers were unable to receive digital television service during the FCC’s Wilmington, N.C. test market switch-over earlier this week. 

Klobuchar Says I35W Bridge Collapse Is 'Wake-Up Call' to Fix Highway Bridge Program

Washington, D.C. – At a hearing today, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar said that last year’s sudden, deadly collapse of the I35W bridge should be a “wake-up call”  for a greater national commitment to bridge safety and repair.  Klobuchar spoke at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing focused on Senator Klobuchar’s legislation, the Bridge Reconstruction and Inspection Act, which would help repair or replace many of the 1,579 structurally deficient bridges in Minnesota, as well as thousands of bridges in disrepair throughout the United States.  She also addressed the just-released Government Accountability Office (GAO) report which found major flaws in the Highway Bridge Program.

Klobuchar, Ellison fight to keep 18,000 Minnesotans from losing health insurance

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congressman Keith Ellison introduced legislation that will protect 18,000 Minnesotans from being terminated from Minnesota’s Medicaid program.  The legislation is in direct response to a recent federal administrative ruling that would radically alter Minnesota’s innovative Medicaid program MinnesotaCare.
