NELSON STATEMENT ON TORNADO DEATHS IN IOWA

June 12, 2008 - Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson released the following statement expressing condolences to the families of those killed during last night’s tornado in western Iowa:

"Diane and I express our deepest sympathy to the families of those killed during last night's tornado in Iowa. Our prayers especially go out to the families of the young men from Omaha who were killed at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch. These boys had promising futures ahead of them, only to be cut short by a tragic natural disaster.

"There is much to repair following this terrible event – both the buildings and the lives of the families of those lost. We also hope the other Scouts and staff who were injured will quickly recover as they rejoin their families."
