Sen. Salazar Lauds CU's Selection for Mars Mission

PUEBLO, CO – Today, the University of Colorado at Boulder announced that it has been awarded the largest research contract in its history to support a mission by the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics by NASA to study the past climate of Mars.

“This is great news for the University of Colorado and great news for our state, which is fast becoming the nation’s leading space economy,” said United States Senator Ken Salazar. “This award will open new opportunities for the University, its students, entrepreneurs in the community, and for all the engineers and researchers who will be leading this exciting endeavor. Colorado has long been a great partner with NASA and we look forward to continuing to strengthen that relationship. I am proud of CU and of all those who are making this historic partnership possible.”
