Joint Resolution Will Protect Great Lakes from Water Diversion and Invasive Species

WASHINGTON —U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today made the following statement regarding unanimous Senate passage of the Great Lakes Compact resolution, which will establish new rules to protect the Great Lakes from serious threats. Stabenow is a cosponsor of the Great Lakes Compact Resolution. The resolution will now proceed to the House for approval.

“I am very pleased that all of my Senate colleagues pledged their support of our Great Lakes, which are among our nation’s most valuable resources and remain a vital component of the economies of our state, region and country.
