In an effort to improve the ability of participants to meet government accountability requirements, the Graduate School has instituted new requirements for its Certificate of Accomplishment in Financial Management. These changes, which took effect on July 1, 2007, include an increase in the requisite number of CPE credits from 112 to (a minimum of) 150 and the addition of analytical and leadership courses to the curriculum.
Julie Moisant, Senior Program Manager for the Graduate School’s Financial Management Curriculum, stated that the additional requirements have been implemented in response to workforce needs expressed by participants and financial management professionals who recognize the need to enhance core skills essential for effective financial management. The following courses have been added to meet this need: Decision Support: Building New Analytical Skills; Leadership Essentials (or) Preparing to Lead in the 21st Century; Planning Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) or Planning Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE), Department of the Army.
Participants who have registered for the Financial Management certificate prior to the July 1, 2007 effective date may complete the program under the previous requirements. For additional questions and advice on these changes, please contact Ms. Moisant at (202) 314-3408.
