CA Technical Library Lives On!
The recent changes in the Sandia Technical Library web site, announcements by the NM Technical Library managers, e-mails, and rumors may have led you to believe the CA Technical Library is closing. Please check this page for detailed information about the NM Technical Library restructuring. The CA Technical Library is NOT part of the NM Technical Library restructuring and closure. The CA physical library facility is NOT CLOSED! The CA Library staff is here to help you as always and to service your information and research needs.

While the NM library is undergoing a significant restructuring in response to the recent IES budget cuts, the effect of these cuts on the operation of the CA library are not nearly as dramatic. Reduction in access to electronic resources has and will continue to be made. These cancellations were arrived at with considerable input from Sandians.

Comments, questions, or opinions can be sent to Saundra Lormand, CA Technical Library Group Leader, at sklorma@sandia.gov, (925) 294-2525. Additionally, the ST&E SMU is collecting input on impacts of the changes being planned for library services. You can register your comments at the SharePoint discussion site.

The CA Technical Library is conducting business as usual. We continue to offer our physical collection of books, journals, newspapers, microfilm and reports for your use. Reference help and literature searching is available from our reference librarians. The CA Central Technical Files/Reports Library is also open and full access to documents is available. You still have desktop access to our catalog and to electronic resources (journals, databases and books). Any document not available through our physical collections or electronic resources can be requested through our Document Delivery service, cateclib@sandia.gov.

Just let us know what you need:  books, articles, standards, translations, reports, dissertations, technical or business data and information! We’re here to help and thank you for your patience and understanding in this time of change.

Your California Technical Library Staff,
Saundra Lormand
