Emerging Markets/Opportunities

The FHWA has been active in identifying and capitalizing on international opportunities that support U.S. foreign policy objectives and benefit the FHWA and the U.S. highway transportation community. When the FHWA provides technical assistance and information exchange with government agencies and private organizations in other countries, the U.S. transportation industry frequently gains through access to foreign markets that eventually acquire transportation-related technology from American industry. In this regard, FHWA is currently active in fostering mutually beneficial cooperative activities with key U.S. global partners such as China and India.
