Library CollectionsThe Library maintains several separately shelved special collections as well as virtual collections accessible through the online catalog. Electronic JournalsView the titles and holdings of full-text electronic journals currently accessible to NIST researchers. New BooksView and request the most recent additions to the Library's book collection. New Books are kept for one week on the New Books shelf next to the Circulation Desk. To see new books from previous weeks, consult the notebook on the New Books shelf. Holds can be placed through the online catalog or by filling out a paper hold request form at the New Books shelf. Featured Research Priority and Strategic Focus Area BooksBrowse these books on the shelves located just inside the Library entrance near the Information Desk. This collection includes circulating books published in the most recent three years that address NIST research priority areas of Homeland Security, Nanotechnology, and Biosystems and Health. Also see the Research Priority Virtual Collections. IT CollectionsReview electronic and physical resources collected to assist anyone interested in general IT and IT security. NIST ArchivesFind out what resources are available in order to research historical information on NBS/NIST programs, activities, and distinguished staff. NIST ColloquiaVisit the Public Affairs page that highlights the current NIST Staff Colloquium Series talks and advertises future presentations. Historical CollectionExamine the writings of famous scientists and the collected papers of prominent NBS/NIST authors in this valuable and important collection. Virtual CollectionsVirtual Collections are Library resources that are related by topic, but not necessarily shelved together. Virtual Collections are created and displayed within the Library's online catalog. To physically locate a title in a virtual collection, check for the Library location at the bottom of the record in the online catalog. SFA Virtual CollectionsFour separate virtual collections cover Biotechnology, Biosystems and Health, Homeland Security, and Nanotechnology. Date coverage varies by collection. Diversity CollectionIncludes diversity, multiculturalism, and issues related to women and minorities in the workplace— in materials from the 1970s onward. Leadership and Management CollectionIncludes leadership, team building, and managing for results— in materials from the 1970s onward. Recent Chemistry ResourcesChemistry resources published in the past four years. Recent Materials Science ResourcesMaterials Science resources published in the past four years.
