The Snoqualmie Pass AMA includes 212,700
acres in a mountainous area
east of North Bend and west of Cle Elem along I-90, where checkerboard
ownership prevails. The pass between the North and South Cascades, Washington
state connects the east and west side of the Cascades.
The area is managed by the Forest Service's Mt Baker, Snoqualmie, and
Wenatchee National Forests. Other ownership in the immediate area
includes Plum Creek Timber Company, other private lands and the state
of Washington. The Snoqualmie Pass AMA emphasizes providing mature
forests and connective habitat for species moving north and south. Associated communities include North
Bend, Roslyn and Cle Elum, Washington.
