Ames Laboratory Human Resources

Welcome to Ames Laboratory Human Resources!  Ames Laboratory is a government-owned, contractor-operated research facility of the U.S. Department of Energy that is run by Iowa State University.  Ames Laboratory employs approximately 450 full and part time positions, which include faculty, scientific, professional, skilled labor, post doctoral and graduate assistant students and hourly employees.  Through the contractual relationship, Ames Laboratory employees are considered employees of Iowa State University (ISU) and are covered by ISU’s personnel policies and procedures.    Ames Laboratory Human Resources, also provides HR administrative support to the Institute for Physical Research and Technology (IPRT), which is a group of scientific research centers.  IPRT employment is over 500 full and part time positions, which include faculty, scientific, professional, skilled labor, post doctoral and graduate assistant students and hourly employees.
