Gifts and Donations

Donations and gifts may be made to the Friends' and the Library in numerous ways. Memorial books, monetary donations, used books and other materials for the library collection or the Friends' booksale, and membership dues are just to name a few. All donations are tax-deductible.

Memorial Books

Want to honor someone on a special occasion, commemorate a notable event, or memorialize a friend or family member? The library accepts monetary donations for the purchase of library materials in memory or honor of individuals. Commemorative bookplates are placed in the books on request and notification is sent to the family of the deceased or the honoree acknowledging the donation. Monetary Donations

Donations to the library or the Friends' organization may be made at any time and in any amount. These gifts are used for additional library materials and programming beyond the limit of the library's regular operating budget. Donations may be made in person at any of our libraries or mailed to: Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library, 1001 Broad Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402. Please include the following donation form to ensure that your gift goes to the department or program of your choice.

Used Books and Materials

The library accepts donations of used books, magazines, audio visuals, books on cassette, and other materials. Items that meet the library's selection policy and are in good condition will be added to the collection. Other items are sold at the Friends' of the Library book sales, or the Library Bookstore and online. You may bring your donations to the Circulation Desk at the Main Library or to any of our branches. Please bring large donations to the Main Library loading dock. Membership Dues

By joining the Friends of the Library, your membership dues will be used in helping to provide financial support for programs and materials that benefit library patrons of all ages. Various levels of support are available. Join your Friends today!
