Nuisance Property Abatement Success Story

1401 G Street, NE
(PSA 106)(Ward 6)

This single family home was identified as a nuisance while the owners who lived in Virginia renovated the property. During the renovation phase, unknown persons were using the property for 1401 G Street, NEillegal purposes. The United States Attorneys Office and the Neighborhood Services Coordinator brought the problem to the attention of the owner who expedited renovations. The property is now occupied and the illegal activity has ceased. A long-time resident of the neighborhood states that before the abatement, individuals who were not associated with the property would hang in and around the property, throwing trash, making loud noises and causing disruption to the neighborhood. According to this resident, the neighborhood is now quiet and a nice family has moved into the home
