- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
- The National Ocean Service
The National Ocean Service, a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) approaches the 21st century with a clear vision--that our coasts and oceans enjoy robust health, provide a rich bounty of resources and are wisely managed to endure competing uses. As the nation's principal advocate for coastal and ocean stewardship, the National Ocean Service develops the national foundation for coastal and ocean science, management, response, restoration, and navigation.
- Ocean and Coastal Resource Management
The mission of the Office of Ocean and Coastal Management is to effectively manage multiple uses of the nation's coastal and ocean resources. It does this by:
- protecting and conserving specially designated areas;
- balancing economic, environmental and cultural objectives;
- promoting science-based resource management decisions;
- adapting the system to changing conditions and needs;
- enabling others to practice coastal stewardship; and working with partners at all levels.
- The National Park Service
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)
- United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)
