Palm/Explore is going away
After almost three years of dedicated service to the NCCS user community, the Palm/Explore cluster will be decommissioned on September 30, 2008 and will be replaced with a new system.

Important Note on MPI Usage for Expanded Discover Cluster
The additional 2048 CPUs recently added to Discover will be available to the general user community no later than Thursday 4 Sep at noon.

Science Time Requests Due September 20
The Science Mission Directorate will select from requests submitted to the e-Books online system for awards beginning on November 1. Current projects set to expire on October 31 must have a request in e-Books to be considered for renewal.

NCCS Offering Parallel MATLAB on Discover Cluster
The NASA Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) is offering a parallel version of MATLAB to its user community for evaluation. The software runs on the Discover computing cluster and is accessed through a special queue.
