  2. Thank you to the Galveston Bay Foundation for awarding me with the 2012 “Guardian of the Bay” award for my efforts on cleaning up the San Jacinto Waste Pits. I grew up in Houston and want to do what I can to ensure that generations to come can enjoy our beautiful city.

  4. This Saturday is Museum Day and over 1,400 museums across the country are offering free admission, including Houston. Great opportunity to go out and visit and see something new.
  5. Today is National Voter Registration Day. Stop by my website to get up to date information on registering to vote, voting by mail, early voting, and how you can find if your poll location has changed. No matter your party affiliation, its important all citizens exercise their right to vote.
  6. Today is Alzheimer’s Action Day and I'd like to recognize the hard work of the Alzheimer’s Association for their advocacy, research, and efforts to provide care and support for individuals with Alzheimer’s and their families. My mother-in-law battled this disease so I know how devastating it can be. I'm proud to honor the work of the Alzheimer's Association and continue my commitment to this cause.
