- الكلمات التي نستخدمها !! ماهو تاثيرها على الناس؟!
الكلمات لها قوة خارقة ، و بها يمكن تغيير الطريقة التي يرى بها المجتمع فئة معينة او موضوع معين.
في الماضي، ساهمت الكلمات التي استخدمت للاشارة الى الاشخاص ذوي الاعاقة في تعميق مفاهيم سلبية...لدى ابناء المجتمع عن تلك الفئة وعن اعاقتهم. فعلى سبيل المثال، ان استخدام التعبير " شخص معاق" للأشارة الى الشخص ذو الاعاقة يركز على الاعاقة نفسها اكثر من تركيزه على كون هذا الشخص انسانا كاملا. هذا التعبير يبعد الانتباه عن شخصية الفرد ويسبب في ان يرى و يعامل على انه انسان عاجز.See More
لكن الان في الولايات المتحدة الأميريكية ، كما هو الحال في جميع انحاء العالم، يعمل ناشطون على تعزيز استخدام الكلمات و المفاهيم ذات التأثير الايجابي عند الاشارة الى الاشخاص ذوي الاعاقة. فعلى سبيل المثال، كان التعبير" متخلف" او" متخلف عقليا" يستخدم في الماضي للاشارة الى الشخص الذي لم يتطور عقله بالقدر الذي عليه اقرانه من نفس العمر. اما الان فان هكذا تعابير يعتبرها البعض مهينة و قد تم استبدالها بالتعبير" اعاقة فكرية او تطويرية". شخص ذو اعاقة فكرية او تطويرية هو التعبير الذي يحث الناشطين في حقوق الانسان على استخدامه.
