airs Committee, it is always heartening to be with so many people in our district who are giving of themselves to help our local communities. I had a chance to hear from and speak with those groups and many other people this week. It certainly makes me proud to be able to represent the people of the 13th District of Texas.

  3. Interesting analysis on why an investigation into the Libya attack is warranted and how we need to take what we learn and make sure this deadly attack is not repeated.

"Three weeks after an attack in Libya killed the U.S. ambassador and th...
ree other Americans, we now know that it did not spring from a spontaneous protest, spurred by an anti-Muslim video, as the Obama administration originally described it. In fact, every aspect of the early account — peddled most prominently by U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice — has unraveled."

  4. One of the best statements I have heard in a long time about American foreign policy came from former British Prime Minister Tony Blair this week. He was interviewed about the demonstrations around the Muslim world and pointed out that as long as we are the greatest power in the world, there will be some demonstrations against us. But his advice was “don’t worry so much about being loved; just be strong.” That encapsulates where the Obama Administration went wrong and what we need to do to get back on track.
  5. This morning I joined Martha MacCallum of Fox News to discuss concerns that Congress and the America people may have been misled about what actually happened at the deadly consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya.
  6. I was on CNN’s “Out Front” last night discussing the attack in Libya that took place on 9/11 and the Obama Administration’s response to it. There are still many questions remaining about what happened on that day, and there are serious concerns about how the White House has handled the investigation of and response to that tragic terrorist attack.
  7. I will be on Fox News this morning with Martha MacCallum at 9:40am Texas time. We will be talking about the attack on Libya and whether the Obama Administration's foreign policy is factoring in to the turmoil we are seeing in much of the Muslim world.
  8. I am scheduled to be on CNN at 6:00pm Texas time to discuss the consulate attack in Libya and the Obama Administration's response to it. Hope you will tune in if you can.
  9. Listening to and communicating with the people I work for in the 13th district of Texas is one of my most important responsibilities. One of the ways that I am able to do that is through my website, www.thornberry.house.gov. We recently i...

  10. Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 140 people from the Texas Panhandle Honor Flight. This group included over 90 veterans who span several generations from World War II to Operation Enduring Freedom. We were so happy to welcome these veterans, their family members, and many other wonderful volunteers who made the Flight possible.
