Leigh Warner

Leigh Warner
Leigh Warner is a Senior Advisor to business leaders and government officials. She has extensive business experience as Chief Executive Officer and senior executive leading innovation and growth in complex enterprises. Her public policy experience includes development of several initiatives that have received Presidential awards.

Ms. Warner is currently an advisor to the U.S. Government on national security. She has served on numerous Defense Business Board and Defense Science Board task forces. For the Millennium Challenge Corporation she advised on strategy and business development. For the Secretary of Homeland Security she was a member of an expert panel that reviewed U.S. homeland security strategy from the citizen’s perspective. She was Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Special Projects and a White House Fellow.

In the business sector Ms. Warner was Managing Partner and CEO of a private institutional investment management firm, President of a strategy and business development consultancy serving communications and financial services clients, and President of an open innovation partnership between leading global corporations to identify strategic opportunities associated with emerging technologies and trends. At Kraft General Foods (now Kraft Foods) she was Director of Marketing and Director of Strategy for some of the world’s best-known consumer brands and was a member of the M&A team that planned and implemented the Kraft-General Foods merger.

Ms. Warner is an active social entrepreneur working to build collaborations. Several of these partnerships have received national awards including the Presidential Design Award for excellence in Federal design and the Millennium Legacy Award. She has developed public engagement programs for the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, National Park Foundation, Mayo Clinic and other civic and cultural organizations. She has served on the Board of Directors of the White House Fellows Foundation, Eisenhower Institute, and the Chicago Council’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and was appointed a Regional Panelist of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships.

Ms. Warner graduated from Cornell University with a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in All Subjects. She is a graduate of the International School of Brussels, Belgium.
