U.S. Army Non-Lethal Weapons Information The United States Coast Guard protects the maritime economy and the environment, defends our maritime borders, and saves those in peril. With missions that include ports, waterways and coastal security; counter drug; and illegal migrant interdiction, the U.S. Coast Guard uses non-lethal weapons to:

  • Augment lethal weapons
  • Warn/Stop vessels at safe “stand-off” distances
  • Determine intent of groups or individuals
