The U.S. Navy maintains, trains and equips combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas. The U.S. Navy uses non-lethal weapons to:

• Warn/Stop vessels and vehicles at safe "stand-off" distances
• Integrate small, light-weight, cost-efficient directed energy systems into shipboard
       platforms as part of their self-defense systems
• Determine intent of groups or individuals
