Summary:
Habersham Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is an electric cooperative that provides service to 32,000 customers in northeastern Georgia, including Rabun, Habersham, White, Hall, Lumpkin and Stephens counties. Habersham EMC offers a rebate program for homes that meet certain insulation specifications and pass inspection by a Habersham EMC representative. New homes and manufactured homes that meet program specifications are eligible for a $200 rebate. In addition, new, existing and manufactured homes are eligible for a $150 to $200 rebate on a qualified heat pump. Existing homes are also eligible for a $50 rebate for the purchase of an efficient gas cooktop.  Through the Smart Change program, Habersham customers who make the switch from an old gas water heater to a more efficient electric water heater are eligible for a $225 rebate, plus an additional $100 rebate for installation cost. Touchstone Energy Homes are also eligible for an Energy Conservation rate discount and can use the Energy Efficient Loan Program to finance these energy conservation improvements.
