Summary:

NIPSCO, in partnership with Franklin Energy Services, LLC, provides a range of incentive options for its business, government and non-profit customers. Both prescriptive and custom rebates are available to customers who undertake eligible energy efficiency projects at facilities. Retrofit projects consist of the retrofit or replacement of existing equipment or systems including, space heating systems and controls, steam trap repair and replacement, and boiler burner controls. Rebates under the prescriptive offering are itemized and detailed on the program web site listed above A Prescriptive Incentive Application must be submitted within 30 days of project completion for each installation address, along with copies of the paid, itemized invoice.

Custom projects incorporate energy efficient upgrades which are not specifically covered under the prescriptive offering. Eligible projects include Process Efficiency Changes, Heating System Replacement/Upgrade, Burner Optimization, Energy Recovery Ventilators, Energy Management Systems, High Efficiency Burners and Combustion Air Pre-Heaters. Custom projects must have a simple payback, excluding incentives, of 1 year or greater. The incentive amount under this program is based on natural gas reductions in therms and is offered at a rate of $0.60/therm. Under both programs, eligible customers include any business or non-profit organization served under NIPSCO’s non-transport-only natural gas tariffs 421, 425 and 451. Contact NIPSCO for additional information or view the program web site for application details.
