Summary:

Consumers Energy residential electric customers are eligible to apply for a variety of rebates on energy efficient equipment. Customers must install equipment in the Consumers Energy service area and receive electric service from Consumers Energy for the appliance purchased. Consumers Energy may verify sales transactions and that installed energy-saving measures meet all applicable building codes, zoning laws, local, state, and federal requirements. A contractor’s invoice itemizing the purchased equipment and indicating type, make, model, price, serial numbers, and date of purchase must accompany each Consumers Energy Incentive Request Form.

The Residential Income Qualified Energy Efficiency Program is working with existing Michigan Weatherization Assistance Program delivery to support weatherization providers with more funding for deeper retrofits than those provided by WAP alone. A multifamily component provides direct installation of energy-efficiency measures for residential customers living in buildings with more than four units, satisfying income requirements and meeting established program guidelines. The program provides no-cost installation of efficient lighting equipment and refrigerators in living units and significantly discounted installation in common areas (both interior and exterior spaces).
