Summary:

The Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO), an electric utility, encourages residential energy efficiency under a variety of incentive programs. General rebates for HVAC, lighting and appliances are available to all residential PSO customers. Rebates are available for AC tune-ups, window AC units, central AC units, heat pumps and CFL light bulbs. All equipment efficiency, purchase and installation requirements must be met in order to qualify for rebates.

The Home Energy Solutions: QuEST program offers incentives for a number of basic home upgrades such as solar screens, building insulation and equipment insulation. The process begins with a brief visual walkthrough homes that assesses insulation, HVAC systems, windows, lighting and water heaters. Based on this survey and a following recommendation, customers may be eligible for standard rebates for suggested improvements. Up to $1,300 in incentives can be obtained through this offering.

The Home Energy Solutions: Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program offers a more comprehensive whole-house energy assessments and equipment installation incentives. All homeowners are eligible for a $250 rebate on an energy assessment if they install a minimum of $500 in energy saving improvements within six months of the assessment. Additionally, customers can also receive a standard rebate after installing proper insulation, central air conditioners, heat pumps, windows, solar screens, light bulbs, radiant barriers and equipment insulation. If homeowners choose to pursue the Performance Path and meet certain energy reduction benchmarks as a result of implemented measures, upgrades are eligible for rebates of up to $4,250. Additionally, prescriptive rebates are also available for installed equipment under the Standard Path. These Standard Path incentives are offered on a per unit basis. The offer is not valid for new construction. The participating HVAC contractor is responsible for submitting the necessary paperwork on the customer's behalf.  For all programs, see web site for details and lists of participating retailers and contractors.
