The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) is the nation's principal research and development resource for non-medical chemical and biological (CB) defense. As a critical national asset in the CB defense community, ECBC supports all phases of the acquisition life-cycle - from basic and applied research through technology development, engineering design, equipment evaluation, product support, sustainment, field operations and demilitarization - to address its customers' unique requirements. |

CBRNE Mission Support ContractThe ECBC Business Services Office (BSO) is a complete, fee-based service office, starting with the development of the requirement and providing support through its conclusion. ECBC BSO works to guide the customer through solicitation package creation, evaluations, and task order awards.

For many years, ECBC has played an active role in community support and has been involved in various community outreach programs. ECBC's support covers a wide range of activities such as identifying the community's concerns and keeping them informed of matters important to them; volunteering in support of various community events/initiatives; sponsoring blood drives; attending community led events and meetings; environmental stewardship; and donating time, money, food, toys, gifts, and clothing to the disadvantaged members within the community. |

Genomics Sequencing Center Key to Our Nation's Biodefense Joseph Wienand, technical director of ECBC, and Lauren McNew, an ECBC scientist, introduce the ECBC Genomics Sequencing Center. ECBC is sequencing the DNA of pathogens for identification and characterization. That information is then being used to develop countermeasures and therapeutics. |
