Deck Log Section
Receives and maintains deck logs from U.S. Navy ships for the previous 30 years and provides reference assistance to the Navy and the public on matters relating to deck logs.
Location:
Washington Navy Yard, first floor of Building 200 Map of Washington Navy Yard and Information on Visiting the NHHC
Hours:
Monday and Tuesday: 0900 - 1600 (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday and Friday: 0900 - 1600 (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
CLOSED: Weekends and Federal holidays
Policy on Reference Assistance: Due to staff limitations, telephone requests will be accepted only from U.S. government offices and agencies. All other requests must be submitted in writing to: Naval History and Heritage Command, Deck Logs Section 805 Kidder Breese SE, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. 20374-5060.
Extensive personal research requests are beyond the scope of the office. Processing time for reference requests is 3 to 5 weeks. See below for more information regarding deck logs.
