There was a time way back when we hit the port of Perth Australia. As we got to the center of town I could hear the U.S. Navy band playing some tunes and Australians all over the place dancing to the tunes!

That single event changed my idea of Navy musicians. My thought was that they were there only for Military events, was I wrong. Besides entertaining the us, bands entertain people throughout the world and at the same time giving us some very good press. They do it very well!

You'll need to be able to read band literature of an intermediate or advanced level and will also have to play different styles so be prepared if you try for an audition!
