Project Update
September 3, 2003
Trees located in the footprint of the planned underground
annex on the Maryland Ave. side of the U.S. Supreme Court building will
be removed on Saturday, Sept. 6. They include a 10' Flowering Cherry,
a 38' American Beech, a 24' American Holly, and a 32' Red Oak. A tree
protection program has been implemented to preserve trees that are near
the planned excavation.
The construction of the underground annex is scheduled to be completed
next summer.
