Regional Investigations

The Office of Aviation Safety investigates almost 1700 aircraft accidents each year, most of which are general aviation accidents investigated by regional staff. While these generally do not have the public visibility of major air carrier accident investigations, these investigations can still involve safety issues important to the traveling public.

February 2013

• 2/10 - At 4 AM PST, Acton, CA. Bell 206 Helicopter crashed while filming on a movie set at a private ranch near Acton.
• 2/8 - At 9:40 AM MST, Tucson AZ. Cessna 152 crashed just after entering pattern at Ryan Field (KRYN).
