Flores Hires New District Director

WACO – Today, U.S. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) announced the hiring of Timothy (Tim) Head as the new District Director for the 17th Congressional District.

“Tim is a great addition to our outstanding district team that is committed to serving the constituents of the 17th Congressional District,” said Congressman Flores. “Tim has big shoes to fill following our loss of Edward Getterman, but I am confident that his leadership, experience and professionalism will provide the skills needed to oversee the operations of our three district offices and to serve as the chief liaison to our constituents. He will be a tremendous asset to our office and will help us continue to serve our communities.”

Head, a Waco native, graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Social Work. He also received his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.

Prior to joining the Flores office, Tim served as Chief of Staff for Texas State Representative James White (HD-12) throughout the 82nd Legislature.  In 2010, he served as the Central Texas Field Director for the Victory Texas 2010 campaign. In 2009, Head was a Policy Advisor for Texas State Representative Bryan Hughes (HD-5) during the 81st Legislature. Prior to attending law school Head was a Social Worker for the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco.

In his new position, Head will be responsible for supervising all field work, casework and maintaining relationships with local, state and federal governments.

Head is replacing former District Director Edward Getterman. Getterman has left the Flores Team to pursue a career in the private sector.

“I am grateful for the service that Edward provided to Congressional District 17. He helped set up and establish our district offices and ensured that our constituent services were done in an effective and timely manner,’ stated Flores. “Gina and I wish the best for Edward and his family in their future endeavors.”

Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur, former energy executive, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and member of the House Budget, Natural Resources and Veterans’ Affairs Committees.
