- Cassandra BrandtI always knew I wanted to serve others, just not a hamburger. After eight years in construction and four in college, I am finally following my dreams toward social service with non-profits. AmeriCorps Vista program made this possible for me, selecting me for a one year paid internship in which I can establish a presence in the social service industry. Finally I will use my skills and knowledge to address the issues of a disadvantaged population that I am passionate about, on the Navajo Indian reservation. I am grateful that the job comes with health insurance and child-care assistance, plus a relocation allowance. I am excited about starting my new job, and recommend this program for college graduates who are interested in social service and looking for a way in!about 7 months ago
