Advanced Search Overview

Each Electronic Document Access (EDA) document type has specific information that can be queried. Advanced Search allows you to create a custom query that returns only the information you are interested in.

To use Advanced Search do the following:

1. Select the fields you wish to see in your result set by clicking the respective Display Field Check Boxes to the left of each field or select the Select All button.

2. When available, select an Operator (See Document Search for details) in the "Drop-down Box" and/or Option at the beginning of each "Field Row" to enhance the query.

 What it does
 Like Returns records where the value in the field matches the text you entered.
 Equal To Returns records where the value in the field matches the text you entered exactly.
 Is Null Returns records where the value of the field is blank.
 Is Not Null Returns records where the value of the field is not blank.
 Starts With Returns records where the field starts with the text you entered.
 Ends With Returns records where the field ends with the text you entered.
 Greater than or equal to Returns records where the value is greater than or equal to the value or date you entered.
 Less than or Equal to Returns records where the value is less than or equal to the value or date you entered.
Greater than Returns records where the value is greater than the value or date you entered.
Less than Returns records where the value is less than the value or date you entered.
 Contains Returns records where the value contains the information you entered.

3. Enter values in the "Text Boxes" to limit the size of your results or to meet specific criteria.

4. Select your desired field Sort order and direction. Select up to four sort drop-down boxes at the end of the field rows to indicate how the results of the query are sorted and in which order (1-4) and direction. For example, you can sort contracts by Contract Number (descending - 1), by Signature Date (descending - 3), and then by Issue DoDAAC (ascending - 2).

This will produce query results ordered by Contract Number descending then Issue DoDAAC ascending and then by Signature Date descending.

5. To activate the query with your desired search criteria and display results, click on the View button.

6. Optionally, you can download results into a file that will be presented in a format which is compatible with most spreadsheet applications. To do this, click the Download button to display results.
