Steps to become an apprentice
Are you a student in high school planning your future? Are you out of high school and looking for a new direction? Or, do you have a job and are looking for a different career? Discover if the Apprenticeship Advantage is for you.
If you are sure you are ready to apply, then the simplest method to find a program and apply is as follows:
- Go to the webpage registered apprenticeship programs by county. The Acrobat (PDF) files on this page are sorted by County and then by occupation and list all registered apprenticeship programs that cover that county.
- Download the county file(s) that you want to review to our personal computer.
- Review the files and when you find a occupation or occupations that you would like to apply for, contact the Program directly using the contact information provided, to determine if the program is taking applications.
- If the program is taking applications, then you follow their procedures for applying.
Note: The Acrobat files on the webpage noted above are updated only about monthly. To run a "current" county listing, you need to go to our public online "Apprenticeship Registration and Tracking System" web page and run the report "Find an Apprenticeship Program by County," then follow steps 2, 3, and 4.
