On July 17, 2017, NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, will turn 100. We’re doing a lot to celebrate that major milestone, and one of the things we’re most looking forward to is this, our Centennial Art Contest. After all, NASA Langley is a hotbed of inspiration. Just imagine: Back when manned flight was still in its infancy, our researchers helped propel the United States to the forefront of global aviation. The first men to walk on the moon trained here. And well before climate change was on tips of everyone’s tongues, we were already studying Earth’s atmosphere. Today, we continue to inspire. We’re still revolutionizing the way aircraft are built. We’re looking well beyond the moon, all the way out to the dusty red surface of Mars. And as our climate continues to change, we’re studying it from all angles in order to better understand what we can do to preserve our beautiful planet. At NASA Langley, we’ve never been afraid to let our imaginations fly. We can’t wait to see what happens when you let your imaginations fly, too!
