visually impaired female using the computerThe mission of the Kentucky Office for the Blind is to provide opportunities for employment and independence to individuals with visual disabilities. We serve Kentuckians who are visually impaired or blind and assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment, economic self-sufficiency and independence with complete integration into society. Our goal is to provide a myriad of resources and high quality services that are geared to enhance the lives of Kentuckians with visual disabilities.

We offer a wide variety of services designed to give those with visual disabilities the tools they need to become more independent and productive in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Services are consistent with an individual's strengths, abilities and interests. We also partner with business and industry, assisting employers in hiring and retaining highly qualified employees.

The Kentucky Office for the Blind provides statewide services to all 120 counties. Our administrative operations are located in our central office in Frankfort. There are 10 field offices located throughout Kentucky in Ashland, Bowling Green, Covington, Elizabethtown, Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah, Prestonsburg and Somerset.
