Is your money going up in smoke? Your wood stove may be costing you more than you think. Burn wise and breathe easy by taking these small steps: 

Burn only dry wood—it burns hotter and longer and saves you money. Remember to split, stack, store and save.

On bad air days, try to limit wood burning. If wood is your only source of heat, try a drier fuel such as pellet logs mixed with your wood. Never burn garbage, plastic or pressure-treated wood.
