Wood Burning - Harms of Wood Smoke - Radio Clip

.mp3 Download (1.1 MB)

Many Alaskans rely on burning wood to offset the high cost of energy. But burning wood produces smoke that is made up of tiny particles called PM 2.5—which travel through the air, get into the eyes and into the deep parts of the lungs, which can result in reduced lung function, asthma, bronchitis and respiratory infections.

Burn wise and breathe easy by…

  -Burning properly seasoned wood,

-Having your wood stove inspected every year,

-And changing out your old wood stove with one that uses cleaner burning technology.
