CDF 2000 Commissioning Run Photographs

Below are archival photographs taken during the installation of TLD holders for the first CDF radiation field measurements. Data from the 2000 commissioning run provided a proof of principle that TLDs could be used to measure the radiation field and formed the basis for subsequent measurements. Results of these measurements are documented in CDFnote: 5723

Top half of the Barrel-4 carbon fiber space tube. TLD holders are located at the 9 locations indicated by the kapton tape. (original)

Bottom half of the Barrel-4 carbon fiber space tube. Three TLD holders are shown under the kapton tape. Note the cooling lines and additional carbon fiber rings. (original)

Barrel-4 bulkhead showing two wedges of silicon sensors and readout. The TLD holders are also shown attached to the wedge at 90 degrees from the silicon sensors. The figure should be rotated so that the silicon is at the top of the frame. (original)
