To locate a nearby place to get a flu shot, visit http://flushot.healthmap.org/. For more information on diabetes and vaccines, see this handout in English and in Spanish.

WA Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Action Plan: 2016-2018

The WA DPP Action Plan consists of an overarching action plan with four specific parts - one for each population by health care coverage: Medicare, Medicaid, Employer-Based Insurance, and Uninsured/Underinsured.  Each section has a frame, based on the current status of DPP coverage for this population, a long-term priority, one or more short-term priorities, and if available, a baseline and target.  Please note: This is a working document.

Diabetes Epidemic and Action Report - Where we've been, where we're at, and where we're going

Dr. Kathy Lofy, Dr. Dan Lessler, and Bea Rector provided the opening presentation at the 2017 Diabetes Epidemic and Action Report Stakeholder Summit. This summit brought stakeholders together to review the progress on goals in the 2014 DEAR as well as to identify action steps for agencies, the legislature, and partners to take to improve diabetes care and management. Diabetes Epidemic and Action Report: 2017 Update

A proviso in the 2015-2017 budget (ESSB 6052) directs the Department of Health to collaborate with the Health Care Authority and the Department of Social and Health Services to author an updated Diabetes Epidemic and Action Report due June 2017. Among other directives, the report shall include individual agency action plans and actionable items for the legislature’s consideration. The 2014 Washington State Diabetes Epidemic and Action Report (PDF) is a legislative report written in response to Third Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5034 (July 2013). It is the result of a collaborative effort from the Washington State Department of Health, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and the Washington State Health Care Authority. Partners and stakeholders from the Diabetes Network played a key role in development and review of the report's 10 goals. These goals function as the strategic framework for diabetes in Washington.
