GM/CA Project and Staff Joined the APS X-ray Science Division

We're pleased to announce that effect June 1, 2012, the GM/CA project and staff joined the APS X-ray Science Division at Argonne. The Biosciences Division in the Argonne Computing, Environment, and Life Sciences directorate has provided a home for GM/CA for the past 11 years. The new administrative home will provide new opportunities for scientific and technical collaboration with world-leading synchrotron scientists. To reflect our new home our new name will be GM/CA @ APS. The internal GM/CA structure will not change, although the titles of some staff positions will change. All members of the group will continue with their current responsibilities. Bob Fischetti will be Group Leader of the GM/CA group and also Associate Director for Structural Biology in the APS X-ray Sciences Division. Janet Smith will be Scientific Director for GM/CA with responsibility to our sponsors at NIGMS and NCI. The move into the APS will not change our relationship with the NIH.
