Past Public Involvement Opportunities: Draft GTCC EIS Comments
The 120-day public comment period for the Draft GTCC EIS began when the Notice of Availability was published in the Federal Register (February 25, 2011). The comment period closed on June 27, 2011. Comments were accepted at public hearings, by mail, and electronically through this Web site. During the comment period, DOE held public hearings as discussed under Public Hearings on the Draft GTCC EIS.
Schedule for Public Comment Submittal
The public comment period closed on June 27, 2011. DOE considered all comments received on the Draft EIS in preparing the Final EIS and identifying the preferred alternative.
Confidentiality of Public Comments
DOE's practice is to make comments, including names and addresses of respondents, available for public review. Individual respondents may request that DOE withhold their address from the record, which we will honor to the extent allowable by law. If you wish us to withhold your name and/or address, you must state this prominently at the beginning of your comment. However, DOE will not consider anonymous comments. Except for proprietary information, DOE will make all submissions from organizations or businesses, and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives or officials of organizations or businesses, available to the public in their entirety.
