This chart shows the deployment trends for freeway technologies associated with data collection and dissemination. Coverage of electronic data collection sensors and closed circuit television cameras is shown on the scale on the left; the number of dynamic message signs is shown on the right. Deployment of all three technologies has expanded rapidly.

This chart shows freeway management deployment trends for years beginning 1997 through year 2010. The technologies reported on are percent of freeway miles with real-time traffic data collection technologies, percent of freeway miles covered by surveillance cameras, and number of dynamic message signs.
