Senator Charles W. Carrico, Sr., Chair of the Joint Commission on Health Care (JCHC) welcomes you to the JCHC website. The JCHC was established as a standing commission of the Virginia General Assembly in 1992. JCHC seeks through its research, recommendations, and legislative actions to "ensure that the Commonwealth as provider, financier, and regulator adopts the most cost-effective and efficacious means of delivery of health care services so that the greatest number of Virginians receive quality health care." JCHC's statutory purpose and authority are denoted in Code of Virginia §§ 30-168 through 170.

As a legislative Commission, JCHC conducts health-related research but does not regulate health care providers or address individual care-related complaints or reports of abuse.  To make a complaint regarding care provided within the Commonwealth of Virginia or to report on abuse, you may contact one or more of the following agencies/organizations.  For immediate assistance in an emergency, you should call 911.
