Following Governor Ducey’s charge to the State Board of Education to review the 2010 English Language Arts and Mathematics Standards, the Arizona Department of Education brought together diverse educators from across the state to review and revise the standards. The English Language Arts and Mathematics Working Groups were made up of over 200 Arizona educators from 10 counties. These educators reviewed over 2,000 public comments on the 2010 English Language Arts and Math standards and used this input and their own grade-level expertise to review each standard. During the standards review process, Arizona educators donated over 6,000 hours of their time to ensure that the standards are best for Arizona students.
We are inviting you to provide comments on the updated 2016 Arizona draft English Language Arts and Mathematics Standards. Your comments will help guide revisions to the drafts so that the final version represents the best standards for Arizona students, teachers, and families.
