Welcome to the Radio JOVE Project !
Radio JOVE students and amateur scientists observe and analyze natural radio emissions of Jupiter, the Sun, and our galaxy.
The 2016-17 Jupiter observing season is under way as some observers are starting to detect Jupiter after the conjunction with the Sun on 26-Sept-2016. While the season has no official beginning, we generally observe about 4.5 months on either side of the opposition date when the observing conditions are better. The 2017 Jupiter opposition date is 7-April 2017. Thus, the 2016-17 Jupiter observing season will run from about 15-Nov-2016 through 15-Aug-2017.
On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the Sun will make a path across the continental U.S. With less than a year to go, it is time to prepare for your experience of this event. We are asking Radio JOVE observers in North America and beyond to make radio observations before, during, and after this eclipse.

The Juno spacecraft successfully entered orbit around Jupiter on July 4, 2016. It was placed into a polar orbit to study Jupiter's composition, gravity field, magnetic field, and polar magnetosphere. See the Juno Mission Pages for the latest information.
