Tohono O'odham Nation has hired a team of consultants to facilitate the Self-Governance project.

Sonosky Chambers is a law firm devoted to representing Native American interests, with offices in Alaska, California, New Mexico and Washington D.C. Sonosky Chambers has represented Tribes and tribal organizations on issues related to Self-Determination contracting and Self-Governance compacting since the passage of the Indian Self-Determination Act in 1975. Sonosky Chambers is responsible for assisting the Nation to complete this project and representing the Nation in negotiation of the Self-Governance Compact and associated Funding Agreement. Advocates for Native Issues, LLC is a consulting firm based in Oklahoma City that specializes in working with tribes on Self-Governance initiatives. ANI's team of consultants have over 100 years combined experience working with Self-Governance law and policy for Tribes across the country. ANI is responsible for facilitating team functions, and for assisting the Nation through the planning, negotiation and implementation phases of the project. The Self-Governance Communication and Education organization is a tribally-based communication and education consortium that works to ensure that the tenets and purpose of Self-Governance are accurately communicated and clearly understood by Congress, the Administration, the Federal government, and all other interested parties.
