This web site is the online center for public information and involvement in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System Renewal Environmental Impact Statement (TAPS Renewal EIS) process. Please note: the TAPS ROW Renewal Record of Decision and Renewal Agreement are now available for viewing and downloading, in the Documents section of this web site.
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), in cooperation with the State of Alaska, has prepared the environmental impact statement (EIS) for renewal of the Federal Agreement and Grant of Right-of-Way for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). The renewal would permit continued operation of the pipeline system by the TAPS owner companies for up to 30 years beyond expiration of the current agreement in 2004. Public participation in the TAPS Renewal EIS is important. This web site provides information and services to help you participate in the EIS process. It includes information about TAPS, the TAPS Renewal EIS process, public meetings, Native Alaskan consultation, and how you can get involved in the EIS. Other resources include documents, a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ), and news updates. The State of Alaska TAPS Right-of-Way Renewal Process: The State of Alaska is also in the process of renewing the State Right-of-Way Lease for TAPS. The State has issued a State of Alaska Commissioner's Statement of Reasons and Proposed Written Determination. Public hearings for both the state and federal projects have been held jointly for public convenience. |
